Austin Fencing Academy Group Classes

Group classes range from 1 to 2 hours of training sessions, depending on age and skill level.
Every class follows the same development model that Austin Fencing Academy is built on. Training includes:

• Warm up and stretching
• Footwork and conditioning
• Target work and partner drills
• Tactical tasks modeling a real bout
• Structured bouts with specific goals
• Competitive free fencing

Our goal is to give every student a 100% opportunity to reach their maximum potential and become the best version of themselves in fencing and daily life, since in our academy, besides fencing, we develop discipline, respect for everyone, communication skills, resilience, leadership, teamwork, planning, psychology, and fast decision making.
We are proud to say that our students do not wait, they take action. Initiative is key in order to succeed.

Group Classes

Private lessons

Private lessons are 20-minute one-on-one training sessions focused on individual growth. In these lessons, the private coach works individually on the weak and strong sides of the fencer. Only the coach knows what to prioritize and teach during a certain period of the fencer’s development, based on analysis of recent training sessions and competitions.

Private Classes

Video Analysis Review

Video analysis 20-minute review sessions focus on understanding fencing through detailed observation of the fencer’s own or their opponents’ competition footage. These sessions allow the coach and athlete to break down actions, decisions, mistakes, and tactical patterns of the fencer or their opponents. Based on this analysis, the coach explains what to adjust and what to prioritize in future training and competitions.
Watching yourself from the side reveals technical and tactical details that you cannot feel or recognize during a bout.
